Dr. Pinto got the PhD in Soil and Food Sciences. The research activity, carried out in regional and national projects and related to the food microbiology, deals with the improvement of quality and safety of different foods through the application of innovative food technologies, active packaging, bioprotective cultures, antimicrobial compounds, and the development of new products through the selection of starter cultures.
